Goals and objectives

This is a graduate-level data science course. The course provides the knowledge about data analysis（statistical analysis) and data analysis method using EXCEL among data science techniques.

Prerequisites

Ability to create graphs using Excel.

1. Overview of data science and data analysis of single variable
2. Excel exercise of data analysis of single variable
3. Correlation analysis
4. Excel exercise of correlation analysis
5. Regression analysis
6. Excel exercise of regression analysis
7. Random variable and random distribution
8. Binomial distribution
9. Excel exercise of binomial distribution
10. Normal distribution11. Practical use of normal distribution, law of large numbers, and central limit theorem 12. Excel exercise of normal distribution13. Interval estimation of population mean, when population standard deviation σ is known

Evaluation

Students are evaluated by assignments (50 points) and excel exercises (50 points).
Passing score is greater than or equal to 60 in total.
