The goal of this course is to understand mechanism of human vision, eye(s) as an organ and its basic function. We will also discuss cognitive bases in the brain related to human vision. Literatures and technical terms are mainly introduced in English (Discussion will be done in Japanese.)

Class schedule
In the lecture, we discuss about the characteristics of human visual system on early stage, as well as on higher order processing such as recognition of patterns and objects. Multimodal integration of human will also be involved.
Theme in the lecture will be included those of the research theme of students themselves focusing on the 3 themes mainly based on the documents with the following contents. 1.Explanation as a lecture guidance 2.〜5.Early visual system (color, shape etc.) 6.〜9.Higher order processing (pattern, face etc.) 10.〜13. Cognitive system (memory etc.) 14.Review the course Evaluation
