Goals and objectives
In addition to small molecule drugs, antibody drugs, and nucleic acid/peptide drugs, cell medicines have been recognized as a new drug modality in recent years. Furthermore, as shown by the COVID-19 pandemic, infectious diseases could be a major social issue in the future, and are important diseases in which cells are involved. In this course, we aim to understand the basics of cell medicine and consider its current status and future challenges by learning about the history of regenerative medicine, topics related to stem cells, the historical development of immunology and infectious disease treatment.
